Arapaho National Wildlife Refuge
This is a great site for the whole family. A six-mile self-guided
auto tour allows for viewing from your car of wetland habitats and the animals and waterfowl, shore and marsh birds
that are currently there. The Refuge provides habitat for a variety of wildlife species including 198 species of birds, 32
species of mammals, 6 species of reptiles and amphibians, and 9 species of fish.
The refuge headquarters building has tactile (interactive) exhibits
that tell about the wildlife found on the refuge.
There are restrooms (which are accessible) on
the refuge at the headquarters and these are open only during office hours: Monday - Friday 7:00am - 4:30pm.
Other restrooms ( that are open from sunrise to sunset and are
accessible) can be found at the entrance of the boardwalk.
