Officers of the Board

Chairman: Tom Deniston was an active design consultant to architects, building owners, contractors, engineers, and governments.  Tom was the owner of Accessible Design Associates. He directed the Barrier Free Design program for the Department of Veterans Affairs, was Executive Director of the Architectural and Transportation Barriers Compliance Board [Access Board], and Governor's Aide for handicapped affairs in New Mexico.

Tom, our friend and Chairman, died on July 24, 2007 in a motorcycle accident.  He was our teacher and leader and he will be greatly missed.

Vice-chairman: Sally Guanella Buckland is an active leader
for Clear Creek County. She is involved with community
issues for seniors, health concerns, and the county's economic
development. Her family is one of the early pioneers of Colorado.
Their historic home is located on the Berthoud Pass Research
Corridor for Universal Design.

Treasurer: Sally Hopper, treasurer of PAW, has been a part of PAW since its inception. Hopper served in the Colorado State Senate from l987-l999 (when term limits prohibited her from running for a 4th term.) From 1989 until 1999, she served as chairman of the Senate committee on Health, Environment, Welfare and Institutions. Since her "retirement", Sally keeps busy with civic activities, serving on a dozen boards. PAW has always been foremost on her agenda.

Jay Bauer has been a real estate attorney in Summit County, Colorado since 1973. He has been a senior member of the faculty for the Colorado Association of Realtors since 1987, and teaches classes on contracts, law, clauses, business opportunities, and agency. Jay was a member of the Approved Forms Committee for the Colorado Real Estate Commission for ten years, until 2000. Jay is a past member of the Board of Governors of the Colorado Bar Association and past chairperson of the real estate section of the Colorado Bar Association.
